Beach Time 6x8" oil on panel

After a lovely beach vacation in Naples, Fl. last week,
I decided to paint a small series of oil paintings
to remember our trip.
I enjoyed the many shore birds
at the beach. Searching for the tiny coquina's at
the shoreline. I included the suggestion of a few
In this painting.
This painting is the first in a series along with
A banyan tree, and another beach painting from
Wiggins pass,( a state park on the water just on the north
Side of Naples.)
Stay tuned for more! Feel free to comment:)

"Distant Sunset" 5"x7" oil Day 14 in a 30 in 30 days challenge

"Distant Sunset"
5x7 oil

I painted several small paintings recently.
I have entered 5 of these smaller paintings into a 8 state
regional juried show. I find out the results this weekend on
Saturday. It is hosted by The Artists of
NW Arkansas, of which I am a board member.
 I have had 4 previous
Paintings in 3 of these shows.
Once I make 5 shows as a juried entrant, I
become a signature member of our association. My
goal is to achieve that in 2017.

My first love is landscapes.
I love the different seasons, the sun rising and setting.
I love thick oil paint, the colors that can be
mixed and what I can create with it.
Thanks for taking a peak at my paintings.

BTW...I will keep you posted if any of my painting
Get juried in.

ROWDY, 10" x10" oil by Leslie Newmanw

Meet Rowdy, my best friends Brittany.

I painted this fun piece from a picture that was shared with me.
I then surprised my friend And her entire family
With his painting.

This surprise was her Christmas present.

Rowdy is now 11 yrs old. It seemed like yesterday he was
a young puppy. He is still as active as ever.

I hope you enjoy viewing this fine dogs portrait! I sure
enjoyed painting him!

More of my work can be seen at......

Thanks for taking a peek!

"Twilight's Last Gleaming" 16x20 by Leslie Newman

Twilights Last Gleaming

This painting is a huge favorite of mine. Recently, after 14 yrs of
painting. I am enjoying a bit more abstract and looser style.

This painting was juried into a 50 pc. Art exhibition, out of over 350 submissions.
The show was sponsored by the Artists of NW Arkansas.
It hung for 1 month at the Underground Gallery in Fayetteville, AR.
I have been in this juried show, 3 out of the past 7 yrs.
A huge honor for me to say the least.

I found a wonderful gold leaf frame to add to the warmth of this piece.

This painting is now hanging through the end of the year at the
Bentonville, AR. Visitors Center. It is with several other paintings
From the Plein Air Painters of the Ozark's.

I can't wait to get this home and hung in our home.

I hope you enjoy this painting!
I vow to do a better job keeping this blog updated.

"Under the Sea" 8x16 oil by Leslie Newman

The spunky little sea horse is heading to Denver next week.
It is going to be hanging in the nursery of a darling little baby boy,
Wesley James. Wesley is the first Grandchild of my BFF.
They are doing his nursery in a nautical/sea theme. His Momma wanted
a sea horse, so I made up a little scene with this sea horse and a few fish
friends. I have included a few mackerels, snappers, and a shark. I
also added some seaweed and coral. This
painting has a lot of texture which looks appropriate for
fish, shells, sand and of course, sea horses!

This painting is part of a painting challenge of 30 paintings in 30 days. I
have not been able to keep up with it this time. I have done Leslie Saeta's 30
day challenges in the past, and I think I was
able finish 25 one month. So this month I am just doing
what I can, when I am able to.

As you might be able to tell by now, I paint a wide variety of subjects.
Portraits, pets, still life's to landscapes. I now add a "under the sea" scape!

I would love any comments and follows.I appreciate hearing from each
and everyone of you that enjoy my work!
Thanks for taking a look!
